Our School

A Note from the Head Teacher:

Together, over time, we are proud to learn to make a difference to ourselves and others.

Dear Parents

Thank you for visiting our website to find out more about Chiltern Primary School – where everyone is welcomed and valued!

I have been at Chiltern Primary for over 20 years now and couldn’t imagine teaching anywhere else.  Whilst here, I have always been surrounded by enthusiastic pupils, dedicated staff and Governors and great parental support. We are a truly inclusive school (19% SEN, 21% EAL, 20 different languages spoken and over 12 faiths) yet we still reach, or exceed, National Expectations by the end of KS2. We also retain our historic family, village-school feel from when the school first opened in 1969 and this is why subsequent generations of the same families choose our school for their children to attend. Even some of our staff were previously pupils at our school and their children are now on roll.

The education and support of the whole child and their families is equally as important to us as academic standards as we prepare our pupils for the next stages of their life. Our pupils achieve well from their varied starting points and thrive on learning as much as they can, over time – they relish the opportunity to show case their talents at local and National levels and leave our school with many exciting memories because of this. Past pupils have gone on to gain successful careers as accountants, concert musicians, doctors, nurses, pilots, solicitors, sports stars, self-employed caterers and theatre performers…to name a few and we have been proud to hear about them all.

The children, through their School Council and Eco Council voice, support many local, National and Global charities, regularly receiving the Parish award for the most money raised for selling Poppies and always looking for the next good cause to boost.

These interests have been maintained, even over the last 2 years with significant COVID interruption.

If you would like your child to join our engaging, safe and happy school, please book an appointment to come in and meet us so you can see the wonderful learning our pupils experience each term. I look forward to meeting your children, and you, soon.

Kind regards,

Penny Howell
