Home-School Liaison
At Chiltern, we have tried to improve links to parents in a number of ways:
- Redesigning our website (on-going)
- Starting a text message service for swifter communication
- Sending emails to parents via ParentPay containing information, such as letters home
- Installing digital screens in our entrance
- Moving to Parent Pay for all payments online
- Parent curriculum, information meetings
- Read-a-long sessions weekly
- Parent reading sessions
- Parent help with activity days in KS1
- Attending consultations with pupils in KS2
- Participating in writing and craft mornings (once Barred checks are completed – DBS – as part of safeguarding legislation)
- Increasing the number of evening performances across the year, so that all year groups get an opportunity to take lead roles and showcase their talents
PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION
Our hard working group of parents play a vital role in supporting our pupils’ opportunities and our children love the regular fund-raisers such as:
- Themed discos
- Fetes
- Cinema eveings
- Quiz nights
- Summer fetes
- Circus
- Raffles
Their hard work has provided our pupils with:
- An adventure trail
- A new stage
- Play equipment for each class
- Technology
- Reading resources to meet the requirements of the new curriculum
- Water bottles for every child
- Art and craft material for the whole school…to name but a few.
It is a worthwhile cause and creates a fantastic social opportunity too. If you would like to join this hard-working group of parents, please contact our chair, Amy Roche via the school office.
